Downed power lines are dangerous. If you see one, follow these tips:
- Don't touch the power line with your hands or any other object.
- The line is likely still energized. If you're close to it, slowly shuffle away, keeping both feet together and on the ground as you move.
- Call 911 or your energy company to report it.
- Make sure children and pets stay away from the downed line as you wait for help to arrive.
